When it comes to math and learning – one of the very best ways to understand fractions is by cooking. And what better to cook than delicious gooey melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies?
Yum. I’m drooling just thinking about them.
I have The. Best. Recipe. given to me by an amazing sister-in-law and yes, I am willing to share.
Get ready for some amazing deliciousness in your future.
First – Get all the things…
To make these heavenly cookies gather up:
- 2 Cups Vegetable Shortening
- 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 4 1/2 Cups Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- Bag of Chocolate Chips
Then…
Mix the shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar.
Add in the eggs and vanilla. Mix again.
Next mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Finally, sprinkle those chocolate chips over the batter and stir ’em on in.
Optional: Add in chopped walnuts or pecans OR for variety skip the chocolate chips and instead use mint chips, carmel bits, peanut butter chips, or white chocolate chips and craisins.
Cook at 375 for 7 minutes or till lightly brown on top.
Let cool.
Grab a mug of milk, a few of those fresh delicious cookies, and enjoy!
